lost and found

I hate it when I lose stuff. Pens, necklaces, booklets, water bottles, wallets-you name it, I've lost it. And it's seriously screwing me over because I'm currently panicking over the mysterious disappearance of my notes.
1 set of bio and 2 sets of math notes, VANISHED INTO THIN AIR!!!
It's like, everyday I see them around and make a little mental note, assuming they'll always be there for me to find later on. Then when I desperately need them, THEY DECIDE TO RUN AWAY. Freaking good timing can?!
Where on earth do lost things go to, anyway? Do they fall into some void of emptiness where no human can step into? Do they get spirited away by fairies or something? Quit judging me, I'm just listing possibilities :S
It's pretty unnerving to think that something which has always been in my line of sight can suddenly go MIA. It doesn't make sense that our belongings can just go missing without a trace, no matter how hard you look for them. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE.
