The Beginning of After
Tuesday, September 6, 20117:01 PM

1. September holidays are finally here. Okay, it started yesterday. But that's not my point! My point is that while the time to start mugging and whatnot has arrived, yours truly has not started doing anything yet. It's like, each time I sit down and make a solemn vow to spend the day studying seriously, I end up doing everything else BUT mugging! With the invention of hand-held devices, it's really hard to keep myself away from refreshing Twitter or Googling randomly or watching videos, which does not bode well for my studying prospects. If anyone has ANY idea how to quit procrastinating and start concentrating, I'm all ears. At this rate I'll probably finish EOY revision next year -_-

2. As a result, Twitter has been driving me crazy. I mean, it's one thing when you go to school and someone tells you they've been studying this and that. It's another thing when you wake up in the morning and have to scroll through various tweets from other hardcore muggers proclaiming that they've just finished ___ topics or even worse, ___ subjects. And you have to grit your teeth and endure those demoralizing tweets when all you wanted to do is to get your daily fix of Allkpop/ZodiacSigns! With your Twitter feed being spammed by such tweets every SECOND you refresh it, it's hard not to be obsessed with how much we have to study for EOYs and how it is rapidly approaching. I've started avoiding places like Facebook and Twitter just because they're like unnecessary sources of stress these days. Well, Facebook not so much, but it's depressing in its own way (no elaboration shall be given).

Dear Twitterbirds guilty of the above, please get a grip. You don't need to publicise your academic progress every 15 seconds. There's a reason why Twitter is a SOCIAL networking site, you know? If I wanted to be frequently reminded of the urgency to start doing work, I will let you know.

3. Also, for some reason I've been getting tired of reading books recently. Which says alot, because 1) Holidays. Free time. Enough said! 2) I currently have 4 hardcover books and 6 ebooks to start on. I guess I was looking forward to those books for so long that when I finally got past the thrill of finding them, I just don't feel any enthusiasm in actually reading them anymore? But the weird thing is, I'm still interested in getting books or discovering new ones I haven't heard of before. My brain is so screwed. I'm probably the only teenager in Singapore who is so infatuated with fiction.

4. After Family Outing, I didn't really watch any other Korean variety/reality show because none managed to surpass the level of awesomeness F.O had. But after discovering Running Man, my interest in anything Korean has totally revived!!! T.T Running Man is practically my favourite show right now. I nearly died laughing watching the older episodes, especially thanks to Yoo Jaesuk! He's the best comedian ever, seriously (Yooruce Willis, Yoohyuk Dancing Machine, Grasshopper...his nicknames are jokes) And there's the Monday couple, Spartakook (!!!! FANGIRL ALERT. THOSE MUSCLES. Why aren't there more tan guys in K-biz?!), Haroro, "I Swear" Sukjin with his big nose and Kwangvatar...all the cast members have their own personalities and I LOVE IT.

A huge part of the show's humor has to do with the writers/editors/etc because they manage to capture the funniest expressions, add in those hilarious sound effects, and basically make the show as interesting as it is. But anyway if you haven't watched it, you totally should! Some of the newer episodes aren't as funny and some guests are too reserved but on the whole, I think I developed eight-pack abs just by watching Running Man hahaha :D Just make sure you don't get hopelessly hooked; when I first started I was watching it as much as I could-from breakfast when I was still sleepy-eyed and drowsy, until past midnight in the dark before bedtime.

5. I should probably start doing Math later. And stop snacking. With the amount of food I've been consuming since the weekends, you could probably feed a country for a year! Boredom makes you hungry, I swear.

Enjoy the rest of the holidays! But not too much :)
