Back from GCP, alive and kicking! (:

I didn't like being sick, losing my wallet, getting my period early, dirty toilets, stubborn storekeepers who do not give you good prices, long bus rides, not getting to see the Great Wall/Book City, being annoyed at friends, feeling tired, not having enough money to do alot of shopping, picking hair off the bathroom floor, dragging luggage up the stairs, having to wear thick clothing that made me look like a ball, and some other random misfortunes, but...

I liked Beijing, bonding with my roomies, getting to know my groupies, converting RMB to SGD, buying nice things at nice prices, good Chinese food, drinking tea, knowing my cultural roots better, seeing pretty sceneries, not getting nagged at by parents and being responsible for myself, taking public transport around the city with friends, trying new flavors of Pocky, studying alongside horrifyingly mugger students in Beijing, living next door to Korean students, taking jump shots, being a bimbotic fangirl, watching movies on the plane, seeing adorable puppies everywhere on the streets, dancing unglamly and watching roomies dance in the hostel room, eating ice cream in winter, having Western lunches in China, watching the poor students doing morning exercises in the cold, getting blown away by strong winds, seeing different sides to teachers, sitting in the middle of the basketball court talking, learning that most Beijing people are actually pretty friendly and willing to help you, singing out-of-tune every night and realising the walls aren't soundproof, as well as waking up each morning not knowing what the day would bring.
